#TrackAddict Follower Alex Hardt a few weeks ago claimed to be the fastest E36 M3 around the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit with a 7:31 BTG time. Now this might not sound to fast by modern standards, especially when it seems most manufactures are there trying to set lap record after lap record. Constantly trying to one up each other. But, when you take into consideration Alex's M3 is 20 years old it caught our attention. So what do you do when, In Alex's own words "Yesterday was my perfect day." Well you have to go faster and that's what he did, to the tune of six seconds! setting a 7:25 BTG. Alex claims a few small setup changes and becoming more familiar with the car is helping him get the times down. He even claims he can go faster still. "I have to fix the broken VANOS in the next few days, hopefully the engine will be a bit more powerful next time" Six seconds might not sound much over 12.9 miles but every half a second per mile counts! For those of you not familiar with the Nurburgring, BTG refers to "Bridge To Gantry" its basically the accepted timing measure for people running on tourist sessions or track days. The lap time starts as you pass under the Bilstein Bridge and ends when you pass under the Audi Gantry along the dottinger hohe straight. We'll be bringing you more of Alex's car when #TrackAddict heads back to the Nurburgring in August but for now, sit back and watch his awesome lap!
